Worldbuilding for Fiction Storytellers I
Have you ever wanted to make a world from scratch? Worldbuilding is the process of crafting a fictional (or semi-fictional) reality. This process is integral to the structure of many well-known stories. The geography and history of Oz paved the way for Dorothy’s adventure in The Wizard of Oz. Similarly, there would be no Lord of the Rings without the masterfully crafted realm of Middle Earth. Effective worldbuilding enables writers (and readers) to explore the most imaginative of worlds in a comprehensible and enjoyable way.
In this course, participants will learn fundamental worldbuilding theory and approach. Class topics will include worldbuilding frameworks, exploring the dynamics of time, and determining the logic/systems at work in your world.

Introduction to Journaling
There are many reasons to keep a journal. A journal can serve as a companion, a sandbox, or simply a private place to voice your thoughts. Regardless of your intended use, a journal can be a priceless tool.
In this course, participants will be introduced to a variety of journal types and approaches. Through lessons, discussions, and writing exercises, participants will craft a unique, personally tailored journal. Participants will not be asked to share the contents of their journals, though we will explore using journal musings as the seed for a more formal, creative piece.
