PT105  – Inspired Poetry

This five-week course invites writers to dive into poetry through unexpected, imaginative pathways. Discover how poems can emerge from found language (creating poetry out of things that already exist such as newsprint, advertisements, etc.), the memories held in the body, and the emotional pull of visual art. Through hands-on experimentation, embodied storytelling, and exploration, students will find inspiration everywhere and to approach the creative process with curiosity and play. By the end, participants will have developed a more intuitive, flexible writing practice, a deeper connection to their own sensory and emotional experiences, and a small collection of poems born from unconventional sources and bold artistic leaps.
